When we removed the trimcoil, we found the structural beam which was supporting the entire weight-load of the upper deck, rotted to the point where had we not found this in time, the upper deck would have fallen down. The first thing we had to do was to temp-up the weight of the upper deck, remove the damaged columns and sections of the beam that was rotted by the water leaking in from above. Then we installed a new 2x10 microlam and re-installed all the fiberglass posts.
